The technology behind adeus True Wills

adeus True Wills are built on a proprietary combination of adeus intellectual property combined with best-in-class secure cloud storage, encryption, cryptography, and sophisticated Blockchain Technology.

Blockchain technology, also known as Distributed Ledger Technology is recognised as the gold standard to securely verify the authenticity of important documents including wills. The technology is so powerful in reducing or eliminating the risk of fraud, forgery, loss or damage that it is specifically mentioned in the Law Commission of England & Wales recommendation paper for Modernising WIlls, published in May 2025. Other governments and legal institutions worldwide have also encouraged the use of blockchain to protect wills.

adeus does not store a copy of the Will on Blockchain, we only store a 'digital fingerprint' of the document. In technical terms we store a 'Hash' of the document, created using SHA-256 encryption. It's secure and it's irreversible which is why it's used by your bank, and governments to protect their important data. The technology ensures the privacy of the will, but can easily detect any changes, even as small as a full stop, or a change in font, so we can ensure the provenance of the original will document and protect from fraud or forgery.
